I loved my time in Cape Town, there is so much to see and do. I rented a room in a house in Observatory, first we were mixed nationalities which was a lot of fun. After a few months we got more Dutch roommates. I joined 4exchange on their Hermanus, Kruger Park and Survival Experience, the last one was my absolute favourite. Being in the outback, sleeping in tents and being able to get up close to the cheetahs was incredible. My contact with 4exchange was great, I had to switch internships during my time here and they were able to arrange this very quickly for me. I will miss everything about my life here, the people, the views, driving around.

It took some time for me to adjust when I just got here, there is a big cultural difference, especially when doing a Social Work internship. But after awhile you get adjusted and Cape Town is great. Everything is close by, nature, beaches, Lions Head and much more! I joined three of the weekend getaways with 4exchange and they were all great. Kruger Park was amazing and the trip to Orange River was a dream come true. I’ve chosen for a smaller house in Observatory through 4exchange. We were with 10 students which is still quite a lot, you really learn about yourself being in Cape Town and living with other people.

I’ve had a fantastic time in Cape Town. I’ve met so many great new people, enjoyed the nice weather and the fact that I was spending so much time outside. I had a great time with the weekend getaway with 4exchange to Hermanus, the shark cage diving was amazing and it was a great way for me to meet new people. The township tour I went on is also something I will never forget. The contact with 4exchange has been great, it’s nice that you can just go to their office if you have any questions and they helped me really good when I had problems with my car and visa. I chose for an accommodation through 4exchange in Observatory, it’s a smaller accommodation with 5 international roommates what I really enjoyed.

Partly thanks to 4exchange, I really had a great time in Cape Town. They found an internship that perfectly matched my study, a super suitable home, picked me up from the airport, organized fun students activities and I could always contact them with questions. If you want to work in Cape Town, you can certainly arrange it via 4Exchange, they make the organization really easier and the stay even better!

My South Africa experience was beyond all expectations. All stories about the fantastically beautiful nature, the friendly people and the great tasty food are more than true. It is a country that you close in your heart and never let go. Life in Cape Town has everything to offer; the beach, the mountains, the many good restaurants and all the amenities that make your stay in Cape Town even more pleasant! The question is not whether I will ever come back here, but when.
