What will you be doing?
Source Food is the leading Food and Beverage Marketing Agency in South Africa, located in Cape Town. Source offers a variety of services to its clients ranging from product development to branding & packaging solutions as well as recipe and menu creation.

Within this food marketing internship position you will focus on different aspects. Consultancy services, working alongside our chef to develop recipes for food service establishments, be involved in kitchen trials with our product development team and converting the kitchen trial recipes into mass production formats. 
Product development, working alongside our product developers to create a range of products for food startups, development of unique selling points, research nutritional requirements and identifying development mandates. 
Food marketing, assisting in the running of marketing campaigns and marketing strategies for food brands as well products that are developed by our team, market research – competitors (local & international), price point analysis and ideal consumer profiling. 
Catering and events, assisting our head chef at private catering dinners and events, helping the organizing and running of the events.

The backpackers is located in the popular Kloof Street and are especially popular among students and young adults traveling. There headquarters is located in the city centre. 

You have an extensive range of tasks within this position of tourism and hospitality internship. This way you learn to work with different booking systems such as booking.com, expedia, hostelworld and more. The bookings have targets for which you are also responsible, so they use targets for the booking of their hostel beds for example. In addition, you plan multi-day trips that are offered from the backpackers including accommodation and activities. You learn to work with the Xero accounting program and you maintain contact with large travel partners. You also attend daily management meetings and maintain contact with the team via email and telephone, in short an internship where there is a lot to learn!
